Wonder where Thieves essential oil got its name?
The legend behind thieves essential oil is that the oils in this blend were used by thieves in England to protect them from the plague when stealing from the sick and dying.
The government could not figure out how they were able to rob and pillage the dying and not get sick. So when they got caught, they were offered a lighter sentence if the thieves would tell them how they did it. They confessed how they coated their bodies with these oils, placed the oils on a satchel in their mouth and kept it in place while they robbed and pillaged the sick and the dead without getting sick themselves.

The main reason to avoid anti-bacterial soaps is its active ingredient: triclosan (and the related triclocarbon). Triclosan is an anti-bacterial chemical found in many consumer products. It is linked to liver and inhalation toxicity, and even low levels of triclosan may disrupt thyroid function. Further, the American Medical Association recommends that triclosan not be used in the home, as it may encourage bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
